Command Line Command Line _lsOrientByBottom
Description
Orients a 3D last based on its bottom surface.
Steps
1. Download this sample file and open it in Rhinoceros 8®.
2. Run the _lsOrientByBottom command.
3. Set the options as intended in the command line.
4. Select the red curve as the 'Bottom Curve'.
5. Select the green objects as the 'Objects to Orient'.
Command Options
  • AxisType: Set the type of axis for the orientation (HeelAxis, OpticalAxis or MiddleAxis).
  • OrientAxis: Set the bottom curve XY axis orientation (X or Y).
Notes
  • This command is available in scripting and interactive mode.
  • Both planar and non-planar curves are supported as 'Bottom Curve'.
  • For optimal results, use Periodic NURBS curves (SubD friendly).
